A Selection Panel will be set up by respective ITAC to select awardees for the industry concerned. Selection will be conducted based on the following selection criteria:
- Commitment to own continuous professional development by learning new skills & building capabilities, realising the ethos of lifelong learning (e.g. embarking on various training programmes and/or various learning activities);
- Contributions of improvement/innovative suggestions in the workplace (e.g. won an award in a contest or received a letter of appreciation from employer); or recognised contributions to the industry or the community (e.g. participated in the work of trade associations, unions, professional bodies, or in community work or volunteer services);
- Significance of the learning activity towards own personal development and/or career advancement; and
- Contributions to promoting the industry’s prospect and the development of QF in the industry, upon completion of the learning activity.
Selection Panel members will conduct the interview in the form of conversation. There will only be one round of interview and no written test is required.
Generally speaking, shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview within 2 months after the application closing date. Alternative timeslot will not be arranged should the applicant fail to attend at the assigned timeslot. He/she will be regarded as forgoing his/her application.
Both awardees and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the results around three months after the closing date of application.
QFS will issue a pay cheque for award after the acceptance of the report. Receipts for expenses are not required.
Awardee is expected to attend the learning activity he/she has selected in the application form. Under any circumstances (e.g. organiser cancelling the learning activity or rescheduling the event date, etc.) should awardee wish to attend another learning activity, he/she should obtain prior approval from the Selection Panel via QFS. Awardee is required to provide the reasons, itinerary, objectives for joining another learning activity, and the relevance and importance of the activity to his/her industry or job for consideration. Awardee may also opt to surrender his/her award should he/she is unable to find an alternative learning activity.
Awardee is required to share his/her experience in joining the learning activity in different platforms (include social media) to his/her friends, relatives, colleagues or community and to submit related screen captures or event photos in the report. Within one year upon completion of the learning activities, awardee is obliged to assist the ITAC concerned and the QFS in promoting QF, and to attend sharing session or other promotion event to share his/her experience.
Awardee should also pay attention for any update from organiser and inform QFS as soon as possible if such changes occur. For example, if the organiser of an overseas learning activity decides to change to deliver the activity in online mode, awardee may still join the event via online mode, however, since he/she does not need to leave Hong Kong to join that event, the award will change from $30,000 to $10,000.

No. Each applicant can only submit one application and for only one industry. One must choose the most appropriate industry and indicate it clearly in the application form.
Applicant who participated in the Award Scheme before but was not selected for an award may apply again as long as the eligibility criteria are met. Applications from past awardees, whether they are applying for the same or different industries, will not be considered.
Applicant can only apply the Award Scheme in personal capacity. Application on behalf of an organisation or a team will not be considered. On the other hand, since all applicants apply the Award Scheme in their personal capacity, members of a team can submit application form individually. Selection Panel will assess applicants individually without considering whether or not applicants are forming the same team in the said industry-related competition.
